How can Liverpool call Michael Owen a 'traitor'?

How can Liverpool call Michael Owen a 'traitor'?
NOW BEFORE YOU JUMP ALL OVER JEROME AND RIP HIS T-SHIRT OFF - JUST READ! It's not like he left Liverpool and when right to Manchester United! He wanted to stay at Liverpool but Liverpool didn't seem to care about him nor did Rafa seem to care about him so he felt unwanted! SO OF COURSE HE LEFT went to Real Madrid scored a few goals maybe he should have stayed a bit longer but he wanted first team action so comes back to England to play for Newcastle and be upfront with Shearer like in France 98. And he was doing good scoring goals until he got all these injuries that messed him up - and Newcastle being relegated obviously he didn't fancy playing in the Championship and Hull City was interesting in him but he came to Manchester United - and if you was a professional football would you rather play for Hull City or Manchester United (10 Premiership titles) ?????????????????????? Liverpool should give him respect he didn't want to live Anfield in the first place he wanted to stay!! ARH Liverpool make me sick to my stomach before I just despised Liverpool now I just hate them - I hope Liverpool NEVER qualify for the Champions League ever ever again! After Owen was denyed a big goal scoring opportunity at Anfield but for that fouler Carragher (who I hope doesn't go to South Africa) Micheal Owen yes maybe money made him go to Manchester United but the same time he wanted to help his career and you Liverpool fans need to respect him for that!

He's only a traitor because he went to Manchester United but when he went to Newcastle United he wasn't a traitor and people felt it was a 'good move' and a 'great signing for a great player'. When he went to Manchester United people said 'fail move' and 'crap player' That doesn't make any sense to be honest. It's just typical ABUism there.

What the hell are you blabbering about? I have been a Liverpool supporter for past 26 years and have never considered Owen a traitor. You are like nuts or something..

It seems like the pair of you haven't understood the basics of football rivalry. No, Owen didn't move directly from Liverpool to United, but imagine if Beckham or Solskjaer, ended up at Liverpool? What would your feelings be towards him, or if not your own, imagine what basic intelligence United supporters (you know the ones i mean, all clubs have them, like at City, the sort of fans who rarely put their brain cells together) imagine what they'd be calling Beckham for daring to play for the Scousers? Liverpool share no real rivalry with Newcastle, so there was no hatred, nor with Real. They DO share a rivalry with United, so when one of their former, long term and briefly successful former players goes to play for them, it's inevitable that some will look upon him less favourably. What i find highly hypocritical is that a Former Liverpool player, one that Utd supporters chanted against are now defending him JUST because he's a United player. Isn't that a case of NEUism? (Nobody except United)

Well, man utd fans boo Tevez for going to city, but he didnt want to leave utd either. Chelsea, Arsenal didnt want him, he said he didnt want to go to Liverpool out of respect to man utd...next biggest club with their financial capability is man city right. So perhaps this helps you understand better. "I just despised Liverpool now I just hate them" also, this really doesnt make much sense..hate/despise??..same thing you know :/

I am a Barcelona fan, so i would be really fuming if Messi ended up in Real Madrid. Imagine Rooney at Liverpool? Now you might know how it feels.

i'm going to put this really simply, i hope you can keep up, r u ready? Michael Owen was Liverpool's golden boy, he was always said to be a Liverpool fan which made the fans even closer to him, like they are with Gerrard and Carragher. OK, u following this so far? they respect him and love him because of his great services to Liverpool FC and then he leaves. OK, the fans don't mind, it wasn't goin well and the manager obviously felt that it he wasn't part of his plans, the fans wished him good luck with Madrid's Galacticos project. That falls flat on it's face and so he needs to come home, he repeats his affection for Liverpool and it looks breifly like he will return there, but in the end he decides his recovery will be best served at Newcastle, again fans are cool with this and wish him well. now, for a long time there has been animosity between the cities of Liverpool and Manchester and the fans of the cities' most prominent football clubs have embodied this rivalry for generations and hate each other, OK? so you keeping up? Liverpool fans love Michael Owen, hate Manchester United, it's fairly simple. he goes to Man U, their biggest rivals and you expect him not to be called a traitor? are you even a football fan? it's like your girlfreind leaving you for the biggest dickhead you know, only worse because the whole world has seen how much you love her and hate him and then shes left you and ended up with dickhead, the number of stops en route doesnt make a difference, it still hurts, a lot. Liverpool fans still respect Mcheal Owen, they still feel like he's one of them, like a brother and its because he's so close to their hearts that it hurts so much to see him with the enemy. and any Liverpool fan (which Owen has claimed to be, remember) would choose Hull City over Man U all day long, despite it being a World Cup year. Plus he would have got more first team action at Hull so it looked the smarter choice, career-wise, anyway.

I agree with you liverpool have no right to call Owen a traitor, they have not bid for him when he was leaving Newcattle and SAF did request( Since he was a free agent) him to come and play at OT where he can get his value back. As for Owen, he did think to play for big team anymore when he got injured so when SAF request him, he did not want to lost his opportunity since he wanted to get his value back and wanted to play again for England. If Liverpool wanted him, they should bid for him, they did not so they do not have the right to call him a traitor. Believe any player in the place of Owen would do the same even Beck could do that if he was in that positions. Liverpool does not respect their player, for example Rooney want to play for Liverpool since this was his home town but Liverpool did want him thus he go to Everon and from there when he got offer from bigger club( Manutd) he also did not lost this opportunity because he has hate for liverpool( a club who has insult him) and wanted to be their rival, that w

hy he had go to their fierce rival team.

Man Utd have 11 premiership titles, not 10, you obviously know nothing about your team so you know even less about Liverpool, due to this I'm not going to bother to read the rest of your statement nor am I going to dignify you with an answer as I find your lack of knowledge and intelligence insulting and unforgivable....
