I have 1 year to save up money, what should I do?

I have 1 year to save up money, what should I do?
Ok so I'm saving up cash for a DSLR camera (I love photography). At the Moment I only have R2500 (that's Rand and it is South Africa's currency). The camera I'm looking to buy over a year (Canon 450D or Nikon D60) is going to cost about R10000. I earn R2400 a year (pocket money). So then I am going to have R4900. That's not even close, but my mother said she will also give a substantial amount. So anyway, I'm gonna be R2000 - R3000 short. How can I make that money in One year? I am altready saving all the money I get. And I am only a kid and am still attending school, so I don't think getting a job will work. What I actually mean is which side jobs can I do?

In other words, you have to make double the amount of money you expect to make over the next year. You need a second job, or you need to double your hours, and/or sell some things you already own.

Could you get a Saturday job? My brother is still in school and he lifeguards at the weekends. Alternatively could you get a shop or cafe job? Otherwise, you have to try family and your parents' friends. Wash cars, walk dogs, babysit if you are old enough, polish shoes, run errands, do yard work... basically do whatever they don't have time to do/don't want to do themselves. You could write a letter to these people explaining your situation and that you are prepared to do any odd jobs for them in exchange for a camera fund donation. Ask for money towards your camera for gifts for your birthday and Christmas. Don't do any of the jobs offered online where they just promise you money but don't explain what you have to do - they are fake and will cost you. Good luck - it is great to hear for someone who is prepared to work hard to achieve their goals.
