Would it make me a bad person to prefer saving animal rather than people? (long)?

Would it make me a bad person to prefer saving animal rather than people? (long)?
When I was young I wanted to be rich to build hospitals in South America and Africa, be so rich that I could make sure everyone in the planet had something to eat. As I grew older and realized how the world works, I realized this was going to be almost impossible. Even if I did have the money, I could not be in all places at once to make sure it was the poor people benefiting from it. Like welfare now, everyone could apply to get help but the people that would get approved would spend the extra money in non important things. I think that something close to reality would just be buying a large farm and have some kind of animal sanctuary, where I could take animals that people mistreated or animals that were saved but not adopted. I think that people are still capable of providing for themselves, people can communicate, people can learn to work in a planet ruled by humans but other creatures cannot. If a dog has a wound, it may be able to "tell" another dog but that other dog can't do anything about it. Humans can get request human help, animals are at their mercy. But then I think, a poor family in Africa maybe be able to communicate that they're hungry, but that doesn't guarantee that they will get something to eat. I just feel like I have to do something and that helping animals is more within my reach but is it ok to save as many animals as I can rather than much less humans that are already being helped? On a side note: Are those commercial that say to donate a dollar a day for a poor child a scam?

Nope, I feel the same way. I don't know, look into them and research them.

Humans are animals,we are not above nature but part of it.Go ahead,animals have emotions too,they are in need of help. as for your side note : some are scams and some are not. the only way to know if a commercial is a scam or not is to dig up more information about how reliable it is.

I don't know about the dollar donating thing, but... If you are torn between caring for animals and people, why not try to reconcile your caring nature? Why not work to rescue abused and injured dogs and cats, even older ones, and train them to be therapy or service animals? That way someone who needs it is benefiting from the good health and welfare of the animal. It won't feed families in Africa, but it's certainly a reasonable goal.

You just need to do what your heart tells you. You may not be able to be at every part of the world at once, but there are also animals in need in every area of the world, so it's really no more of an easier cause once you think about it. But neither one is impossible, you can travel and open your facilities, stay there for a while, so that you can establish how you wan things done, and your bound to find someone in that contry that is willing to stay in your place during your travels to ensure that your goals are carried through. It's really the same thing with animals. You can't be every where at once, but you can work with people that share your interests around the world. And unfortunately, money is an issue, and you would have to have alot of it. Either way your heart is in the right place, and every little bit your able to do really does help.

I dont agree BLACK women in the UK and USA are factually known to be more successful in business than their white counterparts. You cannot generalise without full facts, get educated oh and for the record (im half white and latino) so Im not biased here!

White man has the most weapons, kill off indigenous people and steal their land and resources, then sell it to us other races for profit. White guys is smart but evil.

Do you think current crisis is a failure of old stale bureaucracies but not of capitalism?

Do you think current crisis is a failure of old stale bureaucracies but not of capitalism?
Here's how I understand capitalism. A number of competing manufacturer, freedom of movement for people and businesses. Look around, half our stuff is made in China. It's like my slippers are from Spain, jacket from Australia and shorts from South Africa. Global banks and corporations coming up with fraudulent schemes to gain control of markets. Why would I get a 30 year mortgage if I could bring a bunch of workers from Zimbabwe who would build the house while being paid $200 per month. Am I the only person who feels that if it wasn't for organized crime including terrorism, freedom for anyone to live and work anywhere they want would produce an effective and progressive global economy where everyone would be better off as opposed to mafia kleptocracies? How is it possible that people who make money from the industry also regulate the industry - like banking, agriculture, automotive, oil. >>Everyone who has studied economics will know this. I'm sorry but this is demagogy. Purely from a rhetorical perspective. It's like saying Everyone who took engineering knows my bridges are the best :) Adam Smith would disagree, or Marx - they were economists as far I know.

They're just pulling a Carnegie, where if you own everything, you make a better profit. Its just always buisness as all;

People do not understand that in order for capitalism to exist there must be a domino effect. Capitalism runs in cycles. Therefore every generation or so it is bound to see a economic downturn in order to follow an economic increase otherwise the system is not sustainable. Let’s face it no economic system will give you an economic boom that will last indefinitely. It is just impossible as markets are volatile and capitalistic markets run in model of assumptions. Also you have to add the unforeseen events and margin of errors in between. Everyone who has studied economics will know this.
