where would a doctor make the most money?
The question is really self-explanatory, and please don't say (Oh, it's not about the money) I have heard it a million times I know it isn't about the money I just want to know how much I will get paid if I work HERE vs. OVER HERE. Anyway, basically what I have gathered is that most doctors go into a private practice or work in a group or something of that nature and the rest work in hospitals, that I know. However, lets say I am a really successful neurosurgeon/orthopaedic surgeon alright, I have the potential to make millions. Would I make more in let's say Los Angeles, NYC, NJ, etc. OR would I make much more in lets say maybe Alaska, South Africa, Egypt, or somewhere in Asia? Again, I am just curious and if you have no idea what I am talking about then just don't answer. I would be willing to work anywhere in the world. I love medicine. I am looking for a more professional answer, sorry. That actually did help a little bit wilcox, thanks!

places where there are celebrities. but you have to be top notch, do to the best college/med school so that they would trust you because they want their info to be discreet and you would have to go to their house to do a checkup. i think the place with the most celebs are in L.A good luck!

I recently ran across a website that had a list of Surgeons (by specialty) on where they would make the most money in the US. Since I am interested in Neurosurgery and Pediatric Surgery, I was wondering where in the US would I find some of the highest paid surgeons in those specialties. I only looked briefly but Neurosurgery and Pediatric Surgery make the most money in the southern US area: Neuro making about $680 thousand/year and Pediatrics making about $350-450 thousand/year. This is, of course, just starting out in those fields. I do know that Neurosurgeons have some of the best salaries anywhere you go. Now about the private practice vs. hospital/group thing. I've asked around and Private practices generally make more money than if your with a group or hospital. However, there are factors. If your with a nationally accredited group/hospital, you could be making a whole lot more money than with a Private practice. The same with a Private Practice. It is all about chance. With a Private practice, you have to think about buying a big enough space, finding good employees, most likely a couple more doctors/surgeons, and the insurance. If your with a group/hospital, they cover all that, especially the insurance. You will most likely only get a slap on the wrists if your were get into some legal trouble if you were with a hospital. With a Private practice, you and any possible partners you have, will be entirely responsible for any legal trouble. So if you were to lose a case against a patient, you could lose EVERYTHING! I think you would definitely make more money in the states. as far as location, i am pretty sure you would make more in new jersey. i went to forbes.com a couple of days ago, and surgeons( especially neurosurgeons/orthopaedic) make more in the east of the states. hope that helps.

The REAL answer is to get a job in the media or in hospital administration. You can make a lot more that way than by actually practicing medicine.

Is it worth it-going to film school in South Africa?
I'd really love to become a film maker someday and I'm from Africa.The film industry doesn't pay much here infact it hardly exists-at least not a seriouse one(except maybe me SA and I'm Tanzania)!I wanted to go to film school in SA.People tell me its stupid and I won't make any money and I'm wasting my time.Is true, if you have gone to film school in SA please tell me about the experience, any regrets?Are there any jobs for people who have gone to film school in Africa or is it a waste of time and I should give up my long time dream?

The only real income is in adverting, with documentaries a distant second. Otherwise I would agree with what you have been told. SA movies are far and few between. Something else to consider is that a large percentage of companies filming in SA tend to be international concerns who bring their own staff and only source out locally the odds and ends.
