How do I find this CON MAN???
A few years ago, my fiancee's family hired an "attorney" to help them get their paperwork so that they could get their green cards (they moved here from South Africa a few years ago)... To make a long story short he charged them thousands and thousands of dollars, and after a while they began to question him because it had been about a year or so and nothing was happening with their paperwork. He assured them that they were all taken care of, and then the next thing they knew, he had left the country with all of their money and they haven't heard of them since. They couldn't do anything at the time because they didn't have the correct paperwork, however, now they have hired a new and legit attorney, and have their green cards. I have tried to search for this man online, but can't find anything on him. So, can anyone help me find any information about this man that ripped them off so terribly? His name is "Samuel Anvery"... any info/links would be much appreciated... thank you

By here, I really hope you mean a counrty other than the USA. We have enough people coming here from Mexico, we don't need any from South Africa. In fact, maybe you should consider moving there yourself!

you could try intelius search, but they charge and nothing says he gave his family the correct name. He was after all stealing from them. He could have easily made that up. Good luck!!

You can contact the bar association if he is indeed a lawyer. If not, you could consider hiring a Private Investigator.

Only one solid reference to a Sam Anvery online. Here it is, potentially also including names of wife and children. http://adapost.proboards80.com/index.cgi?board=enroll&action=print&thread=1149353172 Obvious google and ussearch name searches aren't promising - but a good private investigator could follow this trail pretty easily.

Check the spelling - I have never heard of an Anvery name. Are you sure it is Avery?

He is probably long gone and that is most likely NOT his real name. Most scammers don't use their real names for this very reason.

GOOD LUCK THESE GUYS DO THIS ALL THE TIME THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF POOR PEOPLE THAT ARE JUST LOOKING TO GET AHEAD IN LIFE. THEY LIVE IN THE SHADOWS AND THEY HIDE UNDER ROCKS. According to George Clonney,Brad Pitt & AngelinaJolie we do.Why can't a continent like South Africa take care of it's own population and police it's own borders?With all the money these three actors make plus having thier babies down there,(real or adopted) maybe they can buy a couple of truck loads of guns and go start a militia to protect all the out lying villages? But that's not going to happen, because these liberials want to send our American born from legitimate parents to fight a ethnic war that's been going on forever.They talk a good cause and have empathy for the poor, but their talking to the wrong goverments and playing a political card. How have they donated to the American cause,homeless,single mom's,and people that actually pay to see thier lame-ass movies? Just because your lips move and you've been in a movie dosn't mean the American public want's to hear your shit! Want to make a differance? Run for office like Arnold and make decisions your accountable for! Correction;Who cares where Darfur, North Africa is. The point is still the same!

Military aid isn't going to do anything, the people barely have enough food and water to survive.

Bless you, dear. South Africa isn't a continent; Clooney et al were talking about Darfur, not Rwanda; ...and the rest of your post has the same level of accuracy, too. Edit to say: South Africa is one of many nation-states within Africa, the continent, and not a description of the lower half of Africa. Er, yes, it does make a difference if you are talking about intervention in two different countries - unless you believe that all Africans are the same? And if you think that America should have nothing to do with Africa - I assume you will extend this attitude to all the natural resources taken from Africa that America depends on. To make a good start, I can find you an address in Africa to post your cellphone and your laptop (containing African coltan), if you'd like. And just to strike a historical note, it wouldn't hurt to remember that much of America's wealth was built on the backs of people who'd been stolen from Africa. Bet they'd've liked it if America had kept itself to itself.....
