fundraising and sponsorships?

fundraising and sponsorships?
Last month I participated in a two-week research expedition through Earthwatch (http://www.earthwatch.org), which was a volunteer opportunity. I went on the Mammals of Nova Scotia expedition. It was a wonderful experience and I would love to do another expedition with Earthwatch (next summer). I was barely able to raise the money to go this year. I am a graduate student so money is not something that I have readily available to participate. The experience of participating is not only educational but is also beneficial to my career goals (I am a grad student in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology). I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on ways to raise money to participate or how to go about getting sponsorships and who to ask about sponsorships. I had an idea of talking with some of the local schools about a sponsorship or help with fundraising. I thought that maybe a school could help raise money by doing a penny jar fundraiser. In return, I would speak to each grade level about the first experience that I had with Earthwatch and obviously speak in a way that would work for the academic requirements for science. For the class or grade that raised the most money, perhaps a pizza or ice cream party. I don't know how that part would work though. I don't even know if the school(s) could help...legalities. I am looking for part-time work but it is difficult to find anything for the hours that I am available. My living arrangement is pretty simple. I stay with my grandfather while I go to school. I help him with a lot of stuff around the house and with doctor appointments (eye appointments that work around my schedule at school). Travelocity has a grant for Earthwatch volunteers. So I am going to apply for it and hope that I can get the $5,000 grant. I don't know how many people apply for it but only 8 grants are given out each year. I know that I can set up an expedition fund through Earthwatch and people can make a tax-deductible donation (min. of $25) but I don't know what to do to get people to agree to make a donation. I did a wildlife education program for kids last summer but I didn't get that many kids. I also offered to do yard work but I only got a small response to that as well but the donations were quite large ($100+). While I was on the Mammals of Nova Scotia expedition I kept a detailed daily journal and took lots of pictures. Once I get the daily journal typed up and cd with a copy of the pictures I took on to it I am going to give the donors a copy of both the pictures and the daily journal. I'm just at a loss. I really enjoyed myself and would love to go on another expedition, perhaps to Brazil or South Africa. It's a great experience for me educationally and professionally (seeing that I am in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology), it is also a great way for me to give back and to do something that most other people can't or aren't interested or willing to do, especially if they are traveling to another country. What can I do to help raise money? Would people actually make a small donation (like a few dollars, not tax-deductible) to hear a talk about wildlife? Thanks. To Jayne - I have already seen that website. It's useful and I have already put some of those things into practice. I need more than those suggestions to help me get there. How can I get people to help when it seems no one will listen?

I run a non-profit called Compassion Network... we ran across a great fundraiser wher we could help people save up to75% on their prescritption medications with a free discout card (which we give to about 300 families we help each week) & they pey you 60 cents for each perscription that is used with the discount card. This is the link. http://www.freerxplus.com/FRP00809 Wiht they way the economy has been this program is helping us in a huge way. We get to continue to help others & we get a steady stream of income every month without having to ask people to dig into their ever shrinking wallets. When school starts again we will be giving them out at events at the Local Colleges to all the un-insured students. You could get the fundage you need & be someone elses hero at the same time.

You're not at a loss because you charted some great ideas that just need your enthusiasm behind them! Contact banks, electric utilities, air lines, and other groups who generate large quantities of green house gases. They have a vested interest in coloring their marketing green and might be quick to support you. Often times, companies match their employees donation or encourage them to volunteer for certain causes. You would also do well contacting The Nature Conservancy, state natural resource/environmental agencies, and local groups whose mission is stewardship of our habitat. Although they might not have a ready source of funding, they could offer proven strategies on fund raising. Good luck and keep your passion; our world needs every bit:)

Why don't the rich from the United States donate to our country?

Why don't the rich from the United States donate to our country?
All the time you see the insanely rich helping out people in Africa, South America, and poor countries in Asia. I don't get why they don't help to invest it back into the country that gave them the opportunity to make all that money... I live in Washington where Microsoft, Boeing, Warehouser, and several other multi-billion dollar organizations call home. Recently, Microsoft laid off over 5,000 individuals. Why don't people like Paul Allen, who owns over half of Seattle, and Bill Gates, who recently purchased a 2.5 million dollar cabin just north of Boseman, Montana, why don't they help reinvest into our country? It only makes sense to me to do that. I mean if you have so much money that you couldn't spend it all in your lifetime, why not say, "Hey America, you've done so much for me and helped me so much in my lifetime, here's a check for 1 billion dollars to help stimulate the economy." Why is it put upon the backs of all the people who did go to college, who did work there asses off, but didn't make it to the top? I can't remeber the statistic and am probably way off, but I believe it was 80% of America's wealth is controlled by .5% of our population?!?!?!?!?! Why not have them help out the country by spreading the money around. America isn't lazy, we all work for a living. HELP THE COUNTRY WHO HELPED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, some of them actually do. But the question is, why don't the people who don't work, who CAN work, and just WONT work, yet complain that they're poor GO to work!?
2 :
The real reason the rich here don't donate their money here is because of image. Bill Gates wouldn't look like such a goody two shoes if he donated his money to any charity here in the US. He looks good acting like he cares about people in some 3rd world country who get malaria because they are too stupid to move away from the swamps.
3 :
They're just selfish, I bet these billionaires don't even use half the money they have in the bank. And there are kids eating dirt in Haiti. *sigh*
4 :
I agree and don't forget the Stars . They could drop a million . GOD BLESS
5 :
I completely agree with you. They won't help us because they think we still have a good standard of living compared to most countries. I've stayed on Mercer Island before and kayaked past all 5 of Paul Allen's houses. It's sick. My heart goes out to all those families who have lost their homes. They're also afraid the money will go to idiots like the two of the answers above me. "But the question is, why don't the people who don't work, who CAN work, and just WONT work, yet complain that they're poor GO to work!?" If only things were that simple. Take Economics 101. "He looks good acting like he cares about people in some 3rd world country who get malaria because they are too stupid to move away from the swamps." People don't live in these areas by choice. There's also malaria in Westernized places like Hong Kong.

Africa is not a country, neither is South America. What do you mean by "our" country? You say you live in Washington, is that DC? You are in America? It can't be Washington, Nigeria. Bill Gates makes more donations to Africa than anyone else. He is currently giving funds to the Malaria problem in Africa. Get your facts straight before you make yourself look foolish.
9 :
ur people need fame, they need praises so they help others instead of us. Who told u Africa is a country? America can't feed us alone talkless of the west.

How Much Petroleum has it cost Chavez to Get Miss Venezuela to win twice in a row?
Are you kidding me? Last year Miss Colombia was way better! And this year How did Miss Puerto Rico make the top 5 and South Africa didn't? o.O it's horrible And Miss Australia and Dominican Republic were so much better than Miss Venezuela [who looked like a woman of the night from 1902]... Ok so now that that's out of my mind... FQ- What do you think about the fact that all the Serie A teams added have about 180 million yet Real Madrid alone have 100 million [money wise] that's without Barca, Atleti, Villareal, Sevilla, etc. What is this saying about the Serie A... I mean Juve will be the first one to have their own stadium [if I'm not mistaking].

I didn't see the pageant. Not a fan... FQ: I don't know what to say... The recession probably has hit the Serie A teams the hardest plus remember that their current spell in the CL might be a determining factor on why players might not want to go there. I still think Serie A should be back in about 2 years... Calciopoli really mess with the league...

Will I be extradited back to the United States in this case?

Will I be extradited back to the United States in this case?
To make a long story short, I am a native of South Africa, my family brought me to the United States in 1991 when I was three years old to escape from Apartheid that lasted until 1994 there. My parents returned there three years ago when I was 19, and I am the only member of my family remaining here. This is a very good country, definitly the land of oppurtunity, but now that my home country is free and more safe I want to return, especially now that I have inherited a large amount of money from my grandfather and in South Africa, I can live off the interest. (This money is in my bank account in South Africa) The problem is that I am supposed to start serving a 90 day jail sentence in September for an assault and battery charge. I received my inheritence two months ago, and quit my job and have been living on it thru bank wires while planning my trip back home. I was origionally going to do it in October when it starts to get cold, but since I live in a furnished apartment and there's not much to move other than myself, I'm thinking of just going in a few weeks. My fortune (1.9M USD) was not discovered during court proceedings and my passport was not revoked. I guess they didn't expect a person serving a simple 90 days in a county jail to make a run for it out to a different country. On such a minor crime, are they going to spend much time and effort and tax money bringing me all the way back?

No, you will not be extradited from South Africa. You may be arrested at the Airport however before you get there. If not, and if you ever return to the US, you will be arrested. There is no statute of limitation in the US once you have been charged with a crime.
2 :
I'm not sure why you're asking this question here. With your fortune you can afford to consult a lawyer with any queries you have.

What are good savings options for an 'emergency savings fund'?

What are good savings options for an 'emergency savings fund'?
I am in the unenviable position, where I live in the US my parents live in South Africa, and many other important family members live in New Zealand. Unenviable because as family members are getting older I am realizing sadly that I may need to have to make emergency trips to either South Africa or New Zealand in the coming months, years or perhaps even weeks. So since it costs so much money for airfare and especially on short notice, I want to save money in some emergency trip account (which probably doesn't even exist) or have some sort of insurance that can get me these travel arrangements on short notice. If anyone has any info or advice, to this regard I would be really happy, Thank you.

You have a checking account right? Open up a savings account and tie it to your checking. Every paycheck take 15% of your pay and transfer it online to your savings. You will have to sign on to view your bank account online if you have not already done so. Also, get a credit card. In case of an emergency, you will be able to use it. Remember: Do not carry balances on a credit card if possible. It is a myth that carrying balances is good for credit. If you get a card, buy something like food or gas each month and pay it in full. Otherwise you will damage your credit. Note: You will need a checking account in good standing for 6 months in order to get a credit card. You will also need to show ability to pay back. /

Well, you can't buy insurance that will buy you airline tickets to go visit people in other countries. No such horse. You're probably best off using a money market account to save your money in. I like Schwab . . .www.schwab.com

There is no insurance for this. And you do not need any special type of savings account. A regular, normal savings account is fine. So is a checking account.

What’s Wrong with America?

What’s Wrong with America?
What’s Wrong with America? I sure hope you like C-SPAN, reruns, and reality shows, because if we the Hollywood proletariat have our way, every writer in town is going on strike, perhaps as soon as this Thursday. If you ask me, it’s not a moment too soon. Technically, we’re striking against the producers, the studios, and the networks — the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers — who have been trying to screw us out of our fair share of VHS and DVD residuals for years, and whose initial offer was to screw us even harder. With a brave new world of iPhone technology on its way, we want to make sure we don’t get fooled again. But everyone knows we’re really striking against you, the ungrateful, reactionary, and probably crypto-fascist audience. You’ve let us all down by not going to see our movies. The Kingdom? A disappointment at $46 million. Rendition? A huge antiwar belly flop for Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep, and the guy from Brokeback Mountain playing in 2,250 theaters that hasn’t yet managed $8 million. Elizabeth: The Golden Age? The Catholic-bashing costume party with Cate Blanchett in high dudgeon and higher drag is a flopola at $14 million. In the Valley of Elah, from scribe du jour Paul Haggis? It’ll be lucky to make $7 million. At this rate, you probably won’t even go to see Brian De Palma’s Redacted. Frankly, we’re tired of throwing our pearls before you swine. So we’re firing you. I mean, come on: the fourth installment of a torture-porn series, a Steve Carell laugher, a vampire movie set in Alaska and a comedy aimed at the, ahem, “urban audience” are opening up cans of cinematic whup-ass on the finest, most passionate anti-American movies our smartest, snarkiest Harvard grads can think up. And Lions for Lambs hasn’t even opened yet! Heck, The Rock’s family-values comedy The Game Plan has made $77 million, more than all the antiwar movies put together. It’s so sad: Here we were, on a roll, with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid in command of Congress, the Clinton Restoration practically a fait accompli, and Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize to use as a doorstop alongside his Oscar — and this is the thanks we get. Well, I just don’t get it. It’s not like our patriotism is questionable or anything. Like Bonosera the undertaker in The Godfather, we love U.S.-America, we believe in U.S.-America, just not U.S.-America the way she is now: a racist, sexist, homophobic bastion of white male privilege, built on the backs of Africans and Native Americans and exploited immigrants, seeking to export its murderous rage to the Middle East and beyond. And all right-thinking people — by which I mean “left-thinking” people, of course — agree with us. You certainly won’t get any argument on the west side of Los Angeles, and wherever I travel in this great land of ours — to places as diverse as San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, and the Upper West Side — it’s unanimous. America stinks! So we want to change this country into something new and beautiful and socialist, a liberated America in which we middle-class Hollywood people (for so we like to think of ourselves; we’re not really rich) can live safely in our patrolled communities and send our kids to private schools while making sure your tax money goes to pacify the howling mob beyond the gates. An America, in other words, that looks more like South America or South Africa than Bedford Falls, condemned to eternal punishment for its moral turpitude. Who could possibly object to that? Another reason we’re striking is that there’s just too much competition these days from journalists. Who does this clown Scott Thomas Beauchamp think he is, pitching anti-war movies in the guise of writing a “Baghdad Diary” for The New Republic? He might have fooled his editors into thinking he was doing straight reporting, but anyone who lives within 50 miles of the intersection of Fairfax and Melrose can smell a scenario when he steps in it. It’s hard enough to make your bones and get into the Writers Guild of America, a closed-shop union that civilians can’t join, without worrying about a bunch of hacks making stuff up that makes America look bad and passing it off as truth in the hopes that some producer will come calling. That’s our job! So as the days dwindle down to a precious few, it’s looking more and more like we’re going out. The studios have stockpiled all the bad scripts they can get their hands on, the writers’ rooms are going 24/7 to churn out enough episodes to get the networks through Festivus, and nobody’s taking any pitches until this thing is over. It may be a while. Last Thursday, the producers have told us to forget about upgrading the DVD residuals, or any other residuals. For our part, the Guild membership has voted overwhelmingly in favor of a strike — the last one was in 1988, and lasted five months — and all over town, people are consulting their accountants and business managers over how they’re going to make their $20,000 a month mortgage nut if they’re not working. Both sides have called in a federal mediator when negotiations resume tomorrow. But unless this stooge of the Bush Administration waterboards us, it’s on to the picket lines at Paramount, ABC, and Warner Bros. We’re going to hit the AMPTP where it hurts, right in the pocketbook, and make ‘em remember that it all starts with the writer and if you think actors can invent stories and ad-lib dialogue, you’re a die-hard Robert Altman fan. But, even more, we’re going to hit you where you live: on your sofas. No more Letterman. No more Leno. No more Lost. No more great movies like Rendition to alert you to the evils of the Chimp-in-Chief and the Grand Vizier and their Illegal War in Iraq. The hell with you. We’ve knocked ourselves out for you, and this is how you repay us. Serves you right

Nice cut & paste, intellectual property theft is still theft and quite frankly if you knew squat about the subject, which even the pundit you ripped off doesn't, you'd know this is ridiculous tripe and there are reasons why the American public isn't into drama's about the failures of Conservatism at the moment, after idiotically vesting themselves in two terms of a business and now political failure all they really want to do is take off the old head and not think about it for awhile, afterall they are just coming to terms with the painful reality that not only were they wrong, they've been had and not just them thier childrens futures as well, so while you may think the author you robbed was witty you're both just flat out as wrong as hollywoods timing, had these come out oh say 4 years ago they may have made a difference, now they are just so much of what we already know and quite frankly it's too depressing to want to rehash at the moment

I myself have wondered "What happened to the United in the United States of America? What ever happened to the days when Americans stood United as ONE and not DIVIDED. I believe the United States of America has United in front of the States of America because it means to stand together. Americans stood UNITED gainst the British Empire during the American Revolution, Federalist and Anti-Federalist stood UNITED and wrote the Constitution of the United States of America, and Americans stood UNITED to rebuild the United States of America after the Civil War. During the time of when my parents and grandparents were growing up, Americans were UNITED. Parents stood UNITED and took responsiblities to raising their children. Children were UNITED and respected their elders, and a man and a women were UNITED before marriage before they had children. Today, America is not UNITED as we use to be. Parents are not always taking responsiblities of their children, not all children have respect for their eleders, and there are more boyfriend & girlfriend couples having children when they are not married in the United States of America. Why is there no UNITED in the United States of America? I believe it is because of Liberalism. Liberalism is destroying the UNITED in the United States of America because it is based off lies. Because of Liberalism, America is divided on just about everything from who responsiblities to raise children to the saying "One Nation Under God." The Founders of the United States of America were Christian Men and Women who stood UNITED under God. Today, while Conservatives stand UNITED under God and know America is "One Nation Under God," Liberals stand united under liberalism and know that America is "One Nation Under Liberalism." I hope and pray that one day, the UNITED comes back to the United States of America. I hope that Americans can stand UNITED and realize that is it THEIR responibility to raise their children and not have pop culture raise their children. I hope that Americans can stand UNITED and support our Armed Forces all over the world and appreciate the hard work and sacrafices these Men and Women make for the United States of America. I hope that one day Americans will stand UNITED and have respect for the man or woman who is the President of the United States of America because this is the most challenging job in the history of the world. I hope that one day, children will be UNITED and respect their elders. This includes their parents, sibilings, their teachers, and elected officials and that children will look to these elders as an influence and guidance for successs. I hope that one day, both Republicans, Democrats, and Independents stand UNITED and know that America was founded by Christian Principles from the Men and Women who Founded the United States of America. My hope for the future is that America can be a UNITED country and not a D I V I D E D Country. I pray that America is "One Nation Under God" and does not become "One Nation Under Liberalism."

Why do so many Blacks believe that people started in Africa? Who's telling you this nonsense? Civilization started in Mesopotamia, which is the Middle East, not Africa, more like Iraq. "Historically, the ancient city states of Mesopotamia in the fertile crescent are most cited by Western and Middle Eastern scholars as the cradle of civilization. The convergence of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers produced rich fertile soil and a supply of water for irrigation. The civilizations that emerged around these rivers are among the earliest known attempts humanity made at establishing non-nomadic agrarian societies. But it is because Ubaid, Sumer, Akkad, Assyria and Babylon civilizations all emerged around the Tigris-Euphrates, the theory that Mesopotamia is the cradle of civilizations might be the strongest." Wikipedia Tell whoever's telling you that nonsense that they're wrong and making fools out of those who believe the,--like you.

The temptation is pretty high in this situation, but the bottom line is that I would always know that I had taken something that did not belong to me... While I might be tempted I would hope to return the money... After all I am ok without it, so I can't see it making my life better...

Motorbikes? Do not sell internationally. It will be a waste of time. No one will pay to have a motorbike shipped to another country. eBay requires you to be 18 years of age to use their site. So does PayPal.

My boyfriend is going to spain for 6 months to work as an entertainer?

My boyfriend is going to spain for 6 months to work as an entertainer?
We have been together for 4 years and he has been working as a cab driver for the past few months. He is not making much money and now the opportunity has come up for hims to go work in Spain for 6 to 9 months. I live in Cape Town South Africa and Spain is miles away. We see each other every second day, but now that he is leaving we won't see each other at all. He never discussed it with me about how I might feel. We weren't talking at the time due to an argument we had, so the agents contacted him during that time and afterwards I only found out that he will be leaving me behind. I can't get myself to forgive him that easily even though we are back together after our tiff, we always seem to argue because I cannot believe that he did not think that I was important enough to tell me that he intends on leaving, before I knew it he had signed the final contract, so there is no turning back. I have always supported him with everything all his jobs working away for 2 months before atleast just 1province away not thousands of miles and when he went away to further his studies. This time I don't know what to do. He just says, please support me, and I just find it difficult so hard to do, because he took my feelings for granted and hurt me terribly.

well even though you guys were in a little bit of an argument, i thnk he still should have talked to you about his leaving if you still want to keep him, then sit him down and tell him how you feel leaving for six month is something big and i think he should have told you about it so talk to him from my personal experiences, when there was something wrong with my boyfriend, and im worried, ill just tell him straight out. when he explaines everything to me and tell me that im over reacting and tell me why and everything, it feels much better and maybe youll understand your boyfriend like i understood mine
2 :
Spain is a fantastic country, he'll have a great time. (However, you may find the answer you were hoping for if you post it in a different section ?)
3 :
This is NOT a question about travel in Spain. You really should post this in relationships. The locations aren't important, the issue is that he is leaving you behind without having discussed an international move. Sounds like he's ready to move on. I'd cut my losses, and start getting used to not having him around. Ever. Sounds kinda like a jerk to me, anyway. I wouldn't have been with him that long in the first place.
4 :
HEY TRACY IM A CAPE-TOWNIAN living in spain He sounds like a jerk... and spain is tooooooo outgoing for guys to stay faithful if its a long term relationship , when i first came here i felt sooo ugly coz the girls here are natural beauties and beauty is putting it lightly ,,, i think hes being egoistic ..... full of himself in that matter , get rid of him and get a new guy ... if you wanna talk more add me or something

Am i crazy to wanting to become a film director in America?

Am i crazy to wanting to become a film director in America?
I'm a 16 year old girl, i grew up in Germany and now live in South Africa. I'm doing really good in school and love making movies! We have made several films for english projects and my groups was always the best. I always edited it myself. I'm sort of a perfectionist in everything i do. I LOVE watching movies and am interested in how they do them. My dream is to become a movie director or just go into the movie business. Am i mad for wanting to make it in America and go to a university like NYU to be able to make it big? Even if it's not NYU, could i still make it to atleast make a good living? Any advice most welcom! Remember, i don't care about money. I want to work at something i love doing, as long as i can live off it. Thanks for the motivation!

just come to america and its not that hard but pretty hard its not a crazy thing ppl everyday are trying to do wut u r tryin to do good luck
2 :
Actually, you're FAR from crazy. I wouldn't mind doing that myself. I'm 16, but I'm American. Like you, I've always been fascinated by how they do movies. I say go for it. Follow your dreams, and hopefully you'll pull through. Best of Luck to you.
3 :
Seriously, if you have the passion and some ability the do it. Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise. Hollywood needs good directors. There are only a few that would be considered good, and a metric ton of bad directors out there. Please keep it up.
4 :
If you have the passion, go for it! I'm also 16 and I want to become involved in photography and film. See if there are any classes or workshops you can attend to help you early on--I found a script writing and filmmaking one that I'm going to over the summer. And yes, NYU is a great film school, but it doesn't guarantee you'll make a good living. Art is hard to make a living off of, but it's worth the risk if you follow what you want to do. : )
5 :
ur not crzy. I want to be a director when I grow up but yet Im only 14. So if I want 2 do it I have a looooooonnnnnnnggggg way 2 go.
6 :
You are not crazy at all, once you come to America you can accomplish anything. Just make sure that it's truly your passion and if it's your dream just go for it
7 :
Heyy. no way, you aren't crazy at all for wanting to persue that dream. my cousin is interning at a movie studio right now and says it's a blast. so keep at it and hopefully it will work out for you take care
8 :
To tell you the truth, America needs directors. And mostly directors from South America, Europe, and other countries. I also want to become a film director, and just like you, I have dreams and passions for film and am only 15. While researching for many film schools, most of the schools are not so famous like NYU, but many people who have this passion go to those schools just to make films and send messages through those films. In America, there are so many people who are willing to do anything to do their jobs and fulfill their dreams. And of course, you will make it. I wish you best of luck!

How much England Corrupts Africa And Makes It Poorer?

How much England Corrupts Africa And Makes It Poorer?
in 2001 Britain’s BAE systems sold Tanzania a £28 million air traffic control system. The World Bank and the International Civil Aviation Organisation said it was unnecessarily sophisticated and overpriced. At the time Clare Short, then minister for International Development, claimed that bribery was involved. Some calculated that the BAE system which Tanzania bought cost four times the system that Tanzania actually needed. It was a military system but Tanzania barely has an air force. Nevertheless Tony Blair personally pushed the deal. will the investigation into other corruption allegations including the South African £5.5 billion arms deal in which BAE was a partner. Tony Blair also supported that deal. BAE was not on the original shortlist but was decided at a late stage by the then South African Defence Minister, Joe Modise, and included sophisticated fighter jets that the South African Air Force had never asked for. Some of them have never left their hangers – there are no pilots to fly them. The South Africans have already established that Modise and one of his advisers received £15 million in bribes, part of more than £100 million paid in bribes to secure the deal Another irony in all of this is that when it was realised that there had never been a single successful prosecution in the UK for overseas bribery, the government decided to beef up the police unit that should be dealing with it. But there was no money. The money had to come from the Department for International Development which now diverts aid money to subsidise the policing of Britain’s international obligations. source http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14535&Itemid=46

If all other Nations stopped shoving resources into Africa and started demanding they take care of and provide for themselves, the continent would not be the shit hole it currently is

How do I find this CON MAN???

How do I find this CON MAN???
A few years ago, my fiancee's family hired an "attorney" to help them get their paperwork so that they could get their green cards (they moved here from South Africa a few years ago)... To make a long story short he charged them thousands and thousands of dollars, and after a while they began to question him because it had been about a year or so and nothing was happening with their paperwork. He assured them that they were all taken care of, and then the next thing they knew, he had left the country with all of their money and they haven't heard of them since. They couldn't do anything at the time because they didn't have the correct paperwork, however, now they have hired a new and legit attorney, and have their green cards. I have tried to search for this man online, but can't find anything on him. So, can anyone help me find any information about this man that ripped them off so terribly? His name is "Samuel Anvery"... any info/links would be much appreciated... thank you

By here, I really hope you mean a counrty other than the USA. We have enough people coming here from Mexico, we don't need any from South Africa. In fact, maybe you should consider moving there yourself!
2 :
you could try intelius search, but they charge and nothing says he gave his family the correct name. He was after all stealing from them. He could have easily made that up. Good luck!!
3 :
You can contact the bar association if he is indeed a lawyer. If not, you could consider hiring a Private Investigator.
4 :
Only one solid reference to a Sam Anvery online. Here it is, potentially also including names of wife and children. http://adapost.proboards80.com/index.cgi?board=enroll&action=print&thread=1149353172 Obvious google and ussearch name searches aren't promising - but a good private investigator could follow this trail pretty easily.
5 :
Check the spelling - I have never heard of an Anvery name. Are you sure it is Avery?
6 :
He is probably long gone and that is most likely NOT his real name. Most scammers don't use their real names for this very reason.

Israelite Church of God in Jesus Christ Who has the scoop on these wise guys? a money making scheme or legit?
http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/display.php?id=34768 According to the ICGJC, everything you’ve been taught is a lie. The real Jews are black. The true Hebrews of the Bible—from the 12 tribes of Jacob’s sons, on through the generations to Jesus and those who came after—all had skin as dark as the earth. Some of the tribes traveled to the New World, by boat, where they are now represented by the native peoples of the Caribbean and North and South America. Others fled from the Roman army and settled in Africa, where they would one day be sold as slaves by the nations whose lands they had occupied.

Do we need to be in Rwanda?

Do we need to be in Rwanda?
According to George Clonney,Brad Pitt & AngelinaJolie we do.Why can't a continent like South Africa take care of it's own population and police it's own borders? With all the money these three actors make plus having thier babies down there,(real or adopted) maybe they can buy a couple of truck loads of guns and go start a militia to protect all the out lying villages? But that's not going to happen, because these liberials want to send our American born from legitimate parents to fight a ethnic war that's been going on forever. They talk a good cause and have empathy for the poor, but their talking to the wrong goverments and playing a political card. How have they donated to the American cause, homeless, single mom's,and people that actually pay to see thier lame-ass movies? Just because your lips move and you've been in a movie dosn't mean the American public want's to hear your shit! Want to make a differance? Run for office like Arnold and make decisions your accountable for! Correction;Who cares where Darfur, North Africa is. The point is still the same!

Bless you, dear. South Africa isn't a continent; Clooney et al were talking about Darfur, not Rwanda; ...and the rest of your post has the same level of accuracy, too. Edit to say: South Africa is one of many nation-states within Africa, the continent, and not a description of the lower half of Africa. Er, yes, it does make a difference if you are talking about intervention in two different countries - unless you believe that all Africans are the same? And if you think that America should have nothing to do with Africa - I assume you will extend this attitude to all the natural resources taken from Africa that America depends on. To make a good start, I can find you an address in Africa to post your cellphone and your laptop (containing African coltan), if you'd like. And just to strike a historical note, it wouldn't hurt to remember that much of America's wealth was built on the backs of people who'd been stolen from Africa. Bet they'd've liked it if America had kept itself to itself.....

How can Liverpool call Michael Owen a 'traitor'?

How can Liverpool call Michael Owen a 'traitor'?
NOW BEFORE YOU JUMP ALL OVER JEROME AND RIP HIS T-SHIRT OFF - JUST READ! It's not like he left Liverpool and when right to Manchester United! He wanted to stay at Liverpool but Liverpool didn't seem to care about him nor did Rafa seem to care about him so he felt unwanted! SO OF COURSE HE LEFT went to Real Madrid scored a few goals maybe he should have stayed a bit longer but he wanted first team action so comes back to England to play for Newcastle and be upfront with Shearer like in France 98. And he was doing good scoring goals until he got all these injuries that messed him up - and Newcastle being relegated obviously he didn't fancy playing in the Championship and Hull City was interesting in him but he came to Manchester United - and if you was a professional football would you rather play for Hull City or Manchester United (10 Premiership titles) ?????????????????????? Liverpool should give him respect he didn't want to live Anfield in the first place he wanted to stay!! ARH Liverpool make me sick to my stomach before I just despised Liverpool now I just hate them - I hope Liverpool NEVER qualify for the Champions League ever ever again! After Owen was denyed a big goal scoring opportunity at Anfield but for that fouler Carragher (who I hope doesn't go to South Africa) Micheal Owen yes maybe money made him go to Manchester United but the same time he wanted to help his career and you Liverpool fans need to respect him for that!

He's only a traitor because he went to Manchester United but when he went to Newcastle United he wasn't a traitor and people felt it was a 'good move' and a 'great signing for a great player'. When he went to Manchester United people said 'fail move' and 'crap player' That doesn't make any sense to be honest. It's just typical ABUism there.
2 :
What the hell are you blabbering about? I have been a Liverpool supporter for past 26 years and have never considered Owen a traitor. You are like nuts or something..
3 :
It seems like the pair of you haven't understood the basics of football rivalry. No, Owen didn't move directly from Liverpool to United, but imagine if Beckham or Solskjaer, ended up at Liverpool? What would your feelings be towards him, or if not your own, imagine what basic intelligence United supporters (you know the ones i mean, all clubs have them, like at City, the sort of fans who rarely put their brain cells together) imagine what they'd be calling Beckham for daring to play for the Scousers? Liverpool share no real rivalry with Newcastle, so there was no hatred, nor with Real. They DO share a rivalry with United, so when one of their former, long term and briefly successful former players goes to play for them, it's inevitable that some will look upon him less favourably. What i find highly hypocritical is that a Former Liverpool player, one that Utd supporters chanted against are now defending him JUST because he's a United player. Isn't that a case of NEUism? (Nobody except United)
4 :
when Owen was at Liverpool, Man United said he was sh1t, now he's at Man United u make him out like he's Ronaldinho
5 :
He did want to leave liverpool he refused a new contract when he heard real madrid came sniffing thats a fact. I honestly wonder where people get there info from on here. I call him a traitor because he left for real madrid for money he said himself they made him a offer he couldnt refuse. Can you show me a link where he wanted to stay bet you cant
6 :
Well, man utd fans boo Tevez for going to city, but he didnt want to leave utd either. Chelsea, Arsenal didnt want him, he said he didnt want to go to Liverpool out of respect to man utd...next biggest club with their financial capability is man city right. So perhaps this helps you understand better. "I just despised Liverpool now I just hate them" also, this really doesnt make much sense..hate/despise??..same thing you know :/
7 :
I am a Barcelona fan, so i would be really fuming if Messi ended up in Real Madrid. Imagine Rooney at Liverpool? Now you might know how it feels.
8 :
i'm going to put this really simply, i hope you can keep up, r u ready? Michael Owen was Liverpool's golden boy, he was always said to be a Liverpool fan which made the fans even closer to him, like they are with Gerrard and Carragher. OK, u following this so far? they respect him and love him because of his great services to Liverpool FC and then he leaves. OK, the fans don't mind, it wasn't goin well and the manager obviously felt that it he wasn't part of his plans, the fans wished him good luck with Madrid's Galacticos project. That falls flat on it's face and so he needs to come home, he repeats his affection for Liverpool and it looks breifly like he will return there, but in the end he decides his recovery will be best served at Newcastle, again fans are cool with this and wish him well. now, for a long time there has been animosity between the cities of Liverpool and Manchester and the fans of the cities' most prominent football clubs have embodied this rivalry for generations and hate each other, OK? so you keeping up? Liverpool fans love Michael Owen, hate Manchester United, it's fairly simple. he goes to Man U, their biggest rivals and you expect him not to be called a traitor? are you even a football fan? it's like your girlfreind leaving you for the biggest dickhead you know, only worse because the whole world has seen how much you love her and hate him and then shes left you and ended up with dickhead, the number of stops en route doesnt make a difference, it still hurts, a lot. Liverpool fans still respect Mcheal Owen, they still feel like he's one of them, like a brother and its because he's so close to their hearts that it hurts so much to see him with the enemy. and any Liverpool fan (which Owen has claimed to be, remember) would choose Hull City over Man U all day long, despite it being a World Cup year. Plus he would have got more first team action at Hull so it looked the smarter choice, career-wise, anyway.
9 :
I agree with you liverpool have no right to call Owen a traitor, they have not bid for him when he was leaving Newcattle and SAF did request( Since he was a free agent) him to come and play at OT where he can get his value back. As for Owen, he did think to play for big team anymore when he got injured so when SAF request him, he did not want to lost his opportunity since he wanted to get his value back and wanted to play again for England. If Liverpool wanted him, they should bid for him, they did not so they do not have the right to call him a traitor. Believe any player in the place of Owen would do the same even Beck could do that if he was in that positions. Liverpool does not respect their player, for example Rooney want to play for Liverpool since this was his home town but Liverpool did want him thus he go to Everon and from there when he got offer from bigger club( Manutd) he also did not lost this opportunity because he has hate for liverpool( a club who has insult him) and wanted to be their rival, that w

hy he had go to their fierce rival team.
10 :
Man Utd have 11 premiership titles, not 10, you obviously know nothing about your team so you know even less about Liverpool, due to this I'm not going to bother to read the rest of your statement nor am I going to dignify you with an answer as I find your lack of knowledge and intelligence insulting and unforgivable....

Why am I starting to hate school vacations?

Why am I starting to hate school vacations?
I am 13, three years ago, with my family, whenever we had a school vacation we would go to europe or tropical places. Now, all of us kids pay the same prices as adults and my parents make less money than they used to. All of my friends are in new york city, europe, south america, africa many tropical places. On facebook everybody saying how much fun they are having at the beach or wherever they are. Before I used to go on those trips but I don't anymore. It is going to be my birthday in three days and we are going to washington dc for a day (I live two hours from there), my dad is always promising me its going to be the funnest trip ever, but lately what he says isn't true and we never go on really fun trips. I hate the fact he is trying to do efforts but he knows I will be disappointed deep inside. I am so sad that all of my friends are at hotels having fun while I am spending my days in front of the tv. I know I am lucky that I at least going to washington but compared to what I used to it is depressing that we have passed from being the traveling family to the boring family that stays at home. The fact that I am trilingual and that I travel made me unique. Now I don't travel and its not our special fun family thing anymore. All of my friends are gone on vacation so I cant do anything with them. How should I spend my vacation and not make my dad feel miserable because he knows I am going to be disappointed. Instead, my dad is working in his office while we stay at home at watch tv. We do not have anymore fun family time and it makes me so sad.

You poor dear! You could always go get a job or put yourself up for adoption!
2 :
Try doing something fun yourself, you don't always need your friends around to have a good time. There's lots of things you can do, try developing a new hobby; you could paint/draw, write a story, pick up an instrument, start up a scrapbook, bake nice food, or go for long walks or take up a new sport, apply for a job (its better than sitting watching tv all day and you get paid which means you can go out and do more fun things) or do volunteer work -because there's lots of people out there less fortunate than you, and helping out will make you feel good. Surely there must be other kids at your school who don't go away for the holidays, try connecting with them and then you will have friends to do things with because some of them might be feeling the same way as you are -lonely and bored. So don't get down about the fact that you aren't travelling these holidays, just remember all the good times you've had with your family and know that they are trying their best, and that things will probably get better if you're patient enough to let them. In the meantime, just try to have some fun. Hope this helps, enjoy your holidays!

its your choice to make the best of it or not you decide if you hate or love something no one else can

Im in New Zealand right now but im moving to LA once i finished my studies. I want to know how much i will get paid cause i have a bad spending habit and need to know if i can afford to have it with a teachers salary? Please note my fiance pays for everything so the $ i make goes just on me and my dog. I know it sounds selfish and like a gold digger but its not true i also donate lots of money to people in my home country (south africa) and im not going to have children of my own we will adopt and i have a good heart so please dont be mean just cause im spoiled. Please note im not english so i am working on my spelling so no rude comments about my bad spelling! I have gotten much better anyway. I love kids i helped out the special needs kids in high school on my study periods and when i finished high school i helped out at a day care centre and the women were saying im great with kids and very responsible. I care for kids allot and feel strongly about teaching. Its what i wanted to do since i was a little girl. Im also a realy gret with the assighnments they give me to do in Uni so i realy think i chose the right path. Id give up my spending to teach anytime.

Not nearly enough. Teachers, while not responsible for "raising" the students, are highly influential people. They have one of the most important jobs in America: Educating our young people.
2 :
$20,000 - $50,000 a year or maybe more depending on what kind of teacher you are. Professors in colleges get more money than high school and middle school teachers.

This rapper Akorn, EX CONVICT, why do white kids find that so cool, and buy his music?

This rapper Akorn, EX CONVICT, why do white kids find that so cool, and buy his music?
White suburban kids buy the music, white executives pay the rappers, rappers get their homeboys to buy drugs, rappers smoke said drugs on stage, white kids that had their parents buy tickets think its cool, go home, want to do drugs, etc. WHITE KIDS, STOP SUPPORTING THE BLACKS, THEY ARE A CANCER ON SOCIETY, THEY RUIN EVERYTHING, LOOK AT DETROIT. LOOK AT SOUTH CENTRAL LA, LOOK AT WASHINGTON DC, LOOK AT AFRICA. The only way these people make money is off of whitey, open up your eyes, and help save your country. Anthony, you are an unemployed idiot

I think you're gonna need to get over yourself...no one is going to listen to you. People buy what they like, even if they do it to feel cool. Quit being a racist and find something better to whine about from now on.

4 :
well.. Akorn hmm.. i think his music, what little i've heard cuz usually am listenin to reggae etc, is ok.. i like it, i'm white, i do not do drugs, and not all gangsta type.. far from.. if i like music of any sort, simple as that i like it, i dont' care what the musicians are wearing, driving, livin in, what they do in personal life, I am not them, everyone has their own way that they decide to live their lives. They have a talent obviously or they would not be makin the money and as far as pushin drugs onto anyone, as far as i know, no musician or any person has held a gun to my head forcin me to take use or sell drugs.. is time you open your own eyes, get ur head out yo aSs.. you wanna blame someone for conditions in your country, confront your government, all along, they are the ones that let it get that way and from people's own intollerance in the world.

lol ok i get free speech but you need to study your facts alot more before you open your mouth and speak. if you know any thing who do you think bring the drugs over in the first place and not all rappers so to speak or US black people smoke said drugs and if you look back during the 60's and 70's i think you wouldnt make the asumption that you just made and ROCK stars do as much if not more said drugs that rappers hell they do alot more lets see there is meth, cocain, uppers, downers, herroin, and all your talking about a rapper would do is weed hmm i guess you got me there....And the only way that you think your making money is off of the sweat and hard work of a brotha and sister and off of their ideas and creations. open your eyes and help save OUR country from bigits and stupidity. years have gone by and all you see is the same. get your head out your ass and open your eyes dude. there is a whole world out there and more than just your little corner of the world that your allowed to run around in. if you happen to step foot outside that little small worlf of yours look around dude there are all races including yours living together in detroit, south central la, washington dc and oooo my AFRICA............... and by the way his name is AKON and if you happened to listen to his lyrics you might just learn a thing or two and maybe just maybe understand

Look at all the white bands that have been ruined because of drugs and overdoses, this was happening before there was a rap so how do blacks make white kids want to do drugs?
7 :
Your original question is a good one. I don't understand why white kids find rap done by ex-convicts cool either. However, after reading the REST of your statement, I have one simple question for you. Do you wear a white hood and garment when you go out and burn crosses on people's lawns? You sure sound like a card-carrying member of the 3K club. I'm white, and here's my take: Blacks are not a cancer on society. But I believe rap is a cancer on society. Even prominent black people (I'm talking about Rev. Sharpton, I'm talking about Rev. Jackson, I'm talking about the NAACP) do NOT care for rap as it currently exists. The reason? The gratuitous use of the n-word, the word "ho", the word "bitches", etc. in rap "lyrics" and the lifestyles of these rappers (to the point where there have been incidents of rappers being shot dead by posses of other rappers) have created an image that black people are violent, uncivilized criminals (obviously, YOU subscribe to that image based on your commentary). Unfortunately, this image of black people, and the resulting paranoia among white people because of this image, has led to tragic consequences. Do the names Sean Bell and Amadou Diallo mean anything to you? Both were shot 50+ times by white police officers because of their "crime"--being black. How anybody can support rap, a cultural phenomenon which has managed to undo years of progress in the area of race relations, is unconscionable. These rappers have the blood of Amadou Diallo and Sean Bell on their hands. I hope they can sleep at night.

I'm dying of Brain cancer, but before I die:?

I'm dying of Brain cancer, but before I die:?
I'm dying of Brain cancer, please don't give me pity or anything I've just begun to accept it after a long time of grieving, I just need someone to answer this. I have about 6months- 9 months left to live, I am 19 years old, but before I die I want to see a great white shark out at sea. I know that seems really weird, but it's been my life long passion to research these animals (I was planning on getting my phd in Marine Sciences and they have been my favorite animal ever since I was about three) but being that that's not going to happen, I want to see one, in real life, before I die. I live in New Jersey and I don't have the money to go to South Africa or Australia. I had to drop out of college, due to my illness, and my mother does not approve of this, so I cant do any last minute study abroad programs that would give me this opportunity.. Can anyone tell me a way I can make this happen before I have to go? Before I'm in a lot of pain and can't do anything. It means the world to me. Thank you all before hand!

check with "Make a Wish" Foundation, they do wonderful things for people who are in their last stages of cancer. I wish you the best and I hope you see your Great White!
2 :
The make a wish foundation would probably do something, you can check out their site. Do me a favor and say hi to the big guy up there for me :)

I wonder why you would try to sign on for study abroad if you only have 6-9 months to live. The college year starts in the Fall and you need to apply in the previous year.. I'm surprised that your mother doesn't approve of you dropping out of college because of your cancer. I'd expect her to be nursing you by this stage. Most people dying of brain cancer are confined to bed or chair with horrible pain so you are doing really well to be thinking of travel. If you apply for funding to travel, there would be a lot of background and medical investigation. You didn't say what sort of brain cancer you have or how many surgeries you have had.

why is it that everytime someone asks for a worldwide online job, they keep being misled?

why is it that everytime someone asks for a worldwide online job, they keep being misled?
is it that people dont understand the meaning of worldwide or what seems to be the problem? worldwide means every "country of the world". i have to wonder why people are only stating online websites that apply to certain countries of the world. i think people on yahoo are just concerned about earning points, not helping the askers of such questions. for those outside developed areas like US,Canada,Europe, Australia and South africa, let me just spare u the hopes, only to be disapointed later. unfortunately for people from developing regions, you cannot make alot of money from online work. your better of looking for a job offline. that's coz the ones u will find will be paid to click or something of the sort that will only pay u pennies. no one can say they are earning a salary or paying bills from such sites. the rest of the genuine sites that can offer u great opportunities ONLY apply to those of us in developed regions. Sorry! It is sad to see so many here coming with hopes of earning good money online, only to be misled or disappointed later. PS: I live in US and i must say that from my experience on yahoo, most users and participaters are from the western countries. They are thus TOO FOCUSED on earning points to actually help any person here in need. Some dont even finish reading a question before they delve into answering. They give a totally STUPID and inaccurate answer, showing lack of understanding of question raised, like Addyson Moore who just responded to this question. A clear sign of stupidity to question posed.
