Me education help people to help themselves I would make sure that every class has 30 kids and less kids get taught how to save and manage money at high school already. Every kid gets a cheque of R1000.00 at Grade 11 then they have to grow that money buy 200% and more by matric and then they can keep the profit and then they can give it(R1000.00) back to the following grade 11 if not then they owe the school R5 000.00 and are blacklisted until its back. Give Universities and Technikons lots of money to research the problems S.Africa is faces and how to solve them. Also I would buy back TELKOM and bring the rate to international levels give the people proper broadband. Be more strict on the banks they must have more money in their reserves and they must invest more on S.African. Give small businesses more tax breaks. Bring HD-TV to S.Africa

Thereafter I would throw Trevor Manuals budget out of the window and look at why there is a surplus and how that money could be spent to better South Africa, military spending would be halved, all the ANC ministers expense accounts would be suspended and the wasting of taxpayers money on meaningless seminaars would come to a violent halt. I would use what is left of our pathetic defense force to clean out Hillbrow and other areas of all illigal immigrants who will be deported or shot should they resist. Thereafter the army will patrol our borders 24 hours a day to ensure no further immigration of unwanted foreign aliens. I would rename all major cities back to their pre 1994 historical names. The communist party and COSATU would be banned and its leaders forced into exile or an appropriate rehabilitation programme. I will demand payment from Thabo Mbeki for his R90 million rand wall or else liquidate his estate for the payment thereof. I will triple efforts to combat HIV and AIDS and ensure anti retrovirals are made available to all in need where possible. I will ban the import of all Chinese goods into SA. I will implemement government policies of setting up manufacturing concerns to create employment and encourage manufacturing by ways of massive tax breaks and contributions to well planned manufacturing ventures. Eskom will be overhauled, SAA will be privatised. Police will be instructed to severely fine and imprison reckless taxi drivers. Corporal punishment in schools will be reintroduced. The death penalty will be reinstated from day one and apply to crimes such as murder, rape, armed robbery, house breaking and child abuse. I will try and mend our relationship with the west after the ANC's 13 years of forming alliances with the evil nations of the east. That and so much more.

Hello this is MR Cash If i were president id take all the money I could for myself, bring in the MR Cash AA policy that just looks after the previously disadvantaged like me. My friends would all have high paying jobs, even if they are not qualified!! My friends and i could run the lotto, win it maybe a few times. I could rape, sexualy harrass women, get hiv and wash it off with soap and a good shower! I would'nt worry about crime cause why would i care about any of you, Id have my own security etc though. Id make friends with communist dictators like uncle Fidel, we could smoke cubans all day and talk about Animal Farm. Id Ban every political party that there is and declare myself preident for life! i would firstly focus on lowering Taxation rates for individuals.South African's pay too much in taxes as opposed to companies.

cute ideas, good thing you arent going to be president for a year ... you wouldnt do much good for the masses who dont even have computers for broadband and wish they could just have A tv instead of their radios. what about housing ? crime? petrol prices? Relationships with other African countries????

I am largely as Bull IV - your idea for students to generate income is intriguing but fatally flawed what with students that can't pay back varsity loans already now you want to give them even more debt? My greatest wish for SA is for the pendulum of dislike and distrust to swing back to central and therefore normal and for everyone to just be able to get on with life.

Sorry to tell you this but it will take you 1 year to estimate all the damage that has been done and analysis it Another few years to actually get it right it the state that south africa is in now it will take more than 10years to get on to the right track again

Is it worth dreaming of resettling in South Africa?
At the moment I do not have a glamourous lifestyle but is able to save about a 1000USD a month. I do not have management qualifications and if I return to SA will not nearly earn the same money I do now, but I'm tired of living in a foreign country and the hassle that goes with it. I soon have to make up my mind. Edit: Excellent and encouraging answers so far. Thanks people, it's a difficult crossroad in my life.

Im in the same shoes you are in now. its SUCH a difficult decision to make. Im not living a glamorous life too ...but my life here in Copenhagen is FAR better than it will be in South Africa. ALTHOUGH I AM packing my bags and heading home in December. to give it just one more shot. Give it everything Iv got. I believe our lives will be what WE make of it. If we are positive that resettling in SA will work then it WILL. but if we return with a negative attitude then nothing good will follow. How can it..when we "block" the possibilities with our negative thinking. I do have fears. Especially with regards to earning a decent living and how much im going to lose out financially etc..and dont forget the crime. Its been amazing for me..as a young women to just travel around at night..be completely free and safe and I never had to look over my shoulders. But with all that.......I still want to be in a land I can call HOME. good luck with whatever you choose!!

yes it is. I was in london for 3 years, also earning more than what i could imagine to earn here, but have come back because of the lifestyle and because of the people, and man it's good. i am not able to nearly save as much as i could over there, but the lifestyle is much better, the mountains are close, the beach is there, the south african friendliness is there, the smell of braais in the air, the blue skies, obviously among all the sad parts, but it's still a great place to live! been back for a few months now!

Darth, many of us are at cross-roads over the same issue, but try as we may, none of us can quite get SA out of our blood. There are millions of us spread across this world, some claiming that they could never go back for some reason or the other and they battle to make the best of a new life in an unfamiliar country. Then there are the one's like us who have tried but cannot overcome the urge to return home, despite all odds. I know that I will never earn the same salary back home nor will I have the same status in my present career but at times, I don't care, I just want to go home. Give it a try if you must, it's the only way that you are going to be able to move on. I am going home for a month in mid December.

Salary and money should not be the basis for you decision. I have never been to SA (I'd like to) but we have a proverb in Arabic that applies to you. "A stone is twice as heavy in its turf" meaning that you are always more "valuable and useful" in your homeland. Go for it

I'm also at the cross-roads. Have 1 child in Australia and two in SA. I just miss the people and as you say, you get tired of trying to adapt and get used to another country. And people think Australia is a lot like South Africa, but it's not. Not to me. It's nice but home is home.

That in turn depends on what you think life will be like in the future both in South Africa. Perhaps you could look at getting qualifications so you can return to a better job. Good luck.

Dont make a mistake of your life. I have to assume you in the USA. You should thank your lucky stars you got a work permit .Make a life for yourself in the States get yourself a citizenship first then maybe if you still want to return to SA you have a backup. Me personaly no ways too problematic. Millions of people from all walks of life are trying to get into the USA. Next time round the chances are you will not get a visa or work permit.

Yes, Darth, it is a very difficult decision in one´s life. I would say, had I been in the 30-40 yr age bracket, I would jump at an opportunity, because at that age one still has the possibility of getting oneself established in a job, a business. One also needs the energy and discipline, vasbyt to do this. There are really many business opportunities in SA. SA is still growing economically. There was a German couple who pack up and left their country to follow their dream in SA. The dream did not work out, but they wanted to stay in SA, and now have a viable business importing horse boxes to SA. I do think that it is very important to have a good amount of capital at hand to tide oneself over for the first few months, and if possible of buying property and such. There are still many niches open to entrepreneurs, it is just finding a suitable one and then one is A for away! I have a niece who worked for a few years on a yacht, saved all her money and met her future husband. They came back to SA and bought themselves a smallholding ar Onrusriver in the cape for cash. Stayed there a few years, but are now in the UK and have rented out their property.Her husband is a fully qualified electrician, so can work anywhere in the world. The thing is to find something that everyone needs, like a car mechanic, an electrician, computer technologist etc.

Im a Capetown boy whos been living between Germany and Holland for the past 2 years.I have a German wife now and have the oppertunity to settle here or return to SA.Firstly I must tell you that i hate it here and cant wait to return home.My wife loves SA and is all for settling there.We are saving as much money as humanly possible before we return so that we can buy a house cash.We are thinking of opening a guest house in the Table view area of Capetown.I must admit that working in Europe has its benifits as ive travelled alot and seen many beautiful places but still nothing that ive seen in all my travels can compare to SA.There is so much potential in South Africa.There are the negatives like crime and poverty but for overall quality of life, for me SA is tops. Living in Europe really has a way of getting a person down.Even my wife admits that she will be happier in SA. Anyways dude, make that decision and go home to where you belong.

I just moved from Berlin to Cape Town 2 months ago and it was the best thing I could do. Everybody keeps asking me how I can survive with the little money I'm earning. With my profession I would make 4 times as much in Germany (and I am very well paid for South African standards), but as many said before: the mountains, the sea, the beautiful and friendly people. It's all worth it!

Hi all I am an artist (dancer/chorographer/actor) I have studied all the way to honors level in this field. But in South Africa to survive as an artist is so hard, I have tried but can only make a living working in the corporate world. I only make just enough as an artist. Should I give up the corporate world which I hate and fulfil my dream as an artist thus giving up making good money, or be an average struggling man in the world of artistry.

You know when I was a kid, all of my teachers used to ask this question, and everybody says that Science, and they say because we can reach the money with science, but it's the most stupid answer that I've ever heard, by the way, I always answer : Art ! the only thing that makes this rotten world, looks better, is the art.

Follow your heart.. I will not say too many. Just listen to your heart.. Lead a happy life, Choosing the way you really want it.. Then build your life with a real good partner in the future. So it will enhance more your talents and abilities. Then try to concentrate to it! Whether you're still alone or not. So it may help you progress. Doing the things you love will fill your heart and mind with more motivations..Than doing the things you never really wanted to submit in, that will eventually lead one's heart disatisfied and even little problems can easily drain you (cause you're not happy). The vast majority of artist this one has known personally, which includes this one's self, have all worked at their art while also having other means of financial support/employment as they understood that families must eat and have a roof over their heads and food on their table. This simply is not an "either/or" situation and need not be so dramatic. Do that which leads to your greatest happiness or bliss while also being responsible to all others and to one's self. Namaste.

I can guess that if you take the cooporate role you will be extremely unhappy. Creative people NEED to be creative, you will feel trapped and unhappy. Does it really matter that you will have more money? You have a talent and a dream, that's scaralige to give up. When you die and you go to heaven or wherever it is, do you want to look back on your life remembering you made a lot of money which you an't take with you? Or that you grew spiritually and createfd amazing things and made yourself and others happy with those things? If you really can't make it yet, then you could work part time for a steady job to keep the money coming in, and then use the other time trying to progress.

Hi all I am an artist (dancer/chorographer/actor) I have studied all the way to honors level in this field. But in South Africa to survive as an artist is so hard, I have tried but can only make a living working in the corporate world. I only make just enough as an artist. SOUNDS LIKE YOU SHOULD MAKE ART A HOBBY UNTIL YOU GET THE RECOGNITION YOU DESERVE AND ARE ABLE TO LIVE OFF OF IT. Should I give up the corporate world which I hate and fulfil my dream as an artist thus giving up making good money, or be an average struggling man in the world of artistry. YEAH. There's nothing in this world worth fighting for, thus I ask you a simple question: - Money or Science ? You know when I was a kid, all of my teachers used to ask this question, and everybody says that Science, and they say because we can reach the money with science, but it's the most stupid answer that I've ever heard, by the way, I always answer : Art ! the only thing that makes this rotten world, looks better, is the art.

Follow your heart.. I will not say too many. Just listen to your heart.. Lead a happy life, Choosing the way you really want it.. Then build your life with a real good partner in the future. So it will enhance more your talents and abilities. Then try to concentrate to it! Whether you're still alone or not. So it may help you progress. Doing the things you love will fill your heart and mind with more motivations..Than doing the things you never really wanted to submit in, that will eventually lead one's heart disatisfied and even little problems can easily drain you (cause you're not happy). Not even a lot of money will ever fill this misery.. A miserable man is more liable of spending much more than he could earn, in my observation.. Be happy even with smaller income..Your happiness will make you feel working more and saving more.. I think.. I wish you good luck!!

The vast majority of artist this one has known personally, which includes this one's self, have all worked at their art while also having other means of financial support/employment as they understood that families must eat and have a roof over their heads and food on their table. This simply is not an "either/or" situation and need not be so dramatic. Do that which leads to your greatest happiness or bliss while also being responsible to all others and to one's self. Namaste.

I can guess that if you take the cooporate role you will be extremely unhappy. Creative people NEED to be creative, you will feel trapped and unhappy. Does it really matter that you will have more money? You have a talent and a dream, that's scaralige to give up. When you die and you go to heaven or wherever it is, do you want to look back on your life remembering you made a lot of money which you an't take with you? Or that you grew spiritually and createfd amazing things and made yourself and others happy with those things? If you really can't make it yet, then you could work part time for a steady job to keep the money coming in, and then use the other time trying to progress.

Why do people say Joyce Meyer is a false prophet & uses the Bible to preach the word & to make money?
I have been watching Joyce Meyer for years & I have never questioned wheat her she was a false prophet or not,she doesn't sound like a false prophet,what about when she goes to visit children that are living on the streets in Africa and she tells viewers to send in money to help them get food and the things that they need(clothes,Hygiene items,etc) My question is she makes enough money to provide food for all the people that are homeless in South Africa and medical treatment. Oprah can do the same.... UGH!!!!!!!!

. Does she actually claim to be a Prophet? If not, then she can't be a False Prophet. Though she can, or course, be teaching untrue doctrine, if she isn't teaching accurately from The Bible. .

Joyce Meyer isn't in it to make the money. In fact, her shows(confrences) have free admission.... She was visiting my town this week, and all her shows were free admission. She really does follow Gods word, because she is preaching Gods word, and not expecting(or seemingly wanting) money for it. You don't have to buy tickets, you simply show up and grab a seat. It might be because she is a woman pastor, and not people are still getting used to the idea of women pastors. I personally don't have anything wrong with women pastors, for I have read the bible myself and understand the truth. But I like Joyce Meyer. I wanted to see her confrence this week, but couldn't find anybody to go with! =( Joyce Meyers isn't a false prophet, she is very intelligent and has read the bible and is great with words! Its probably nothing more than the lack of support of women pastors. Some "christians" are so anti-women pastors, that they go so far as to say that will treat women pastors like demons... I truly like Joyce Meyers, and she is wonderful! =)

Willem Ratte’s 3rd Declaration from Jail. South Africa is supposed to be a signatory to international conventions governing non violent protest. None of its rules have been followed. One week ago, I handed in a statement to court that I have stopped eating since 1 October 2010 in protest at the unlawfull handling off into detention of the five youngsters among us. On Wednesday last, the high court saw fit to condone the trampling on people’s rights, the storming into houses without warrant, the stealing of money, watches and whithout giving receipts, and the hauling of people off into detention without properly arresting them, typical of the OH-SO-DEMOCRATIC and OH-SO-FULL-OF HUMAN-RIGHTS. So called new South Africa’s hypocracy, falseness and injustice. Therefore I will now continue my hunger strike, until the state persecutor, whose forces hauled me off into detention on fabricated spurious charges, until he drops these charges, or the court throws them out. I also want all my confiscated property returned. I am sick and tired of the hypocrisy , falseness and injustice of the new South Africa. I am sick and tired of arrogant police black and white, trampling on decent people’s rights, stealing and taking anything they fancy without acknowledgement. I am sick and tired of a lying white informer scum like MIKE HOUGH. I am sick and tired of armed police who should be protecting the public against real threats, forcing us into police cells to be robbed instead. I am sick and tired of being inside a police cell while a youngster I being raped because the police don’t care and are too busy smuggling drugs and making money from the gangsters in charge anyway. I am sick and tired of being read my so-called rights by a smug policeman, while everyone knows it is just a farce. I am sick and tired of being treated like a dangerous criminal, with huge police escorts, hordes of armed-to-the-teeth task force members, and all the accompanying circus, while killers and rapists and robbers roam free and kill and rape and rob to their hearts content. I am also sick and tired of stealing and drug smuggling policemen. I am sick and tired of the BOER hating mass media smearing our people and blowing things out of all proportion, while weapons displayed belonged to several owners and either had licenses or were thought to have licenses, or did not need any or were pellet guns. I am sick and tired of state agencies continuing to oppress, persecute and smear us BOERS at every opportunity. I thought the presidency of JACOB ZUMA would bring an improvement, but it seems the state agencies just make and break as they like, sure in the knowledge that their actions will be condoned by the courts.

He was referred to by Eeben Barlow as being "simply the finest, most professional soldier ever trained by the SADF." Ratte had an instrumental role in the South African Defense Force's attack on Angola, and he lead efforts against the legitimate government there. In 2001, Ratte was found guilty of sabotage in the Kathu Regional Court, in relation to a 1997 break in at the Pomfret military base in the Northern Cape. He was sentenced to seven years in prison, three years of which were suspended for five years. Ratte and ten accomplices were charged with terrorism, housebreaking, attempted theft of weapons, trespassing on a military base, and sabotage. They were convicted of only the last charge.
